Pozna\u0144\u2014Poland<\/a>\u2019s fifth largest city\u2014is one of the nation\u2019s oldest settlements. Regarded endearingly by locals and travellers making their way through as the \u201ccradle of the Polish nation\u201d, it is home to many of the Slavic country\u2019s most storied heritage sites. From its 10th-century architecture<\/a> to the Archcathedral Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul\u2014the oldest church in the country and resting place of Poland\u2019s first rulers\u2014the city\u2019s cobblestone streets have a quaint charm to them.<\/p>\n

In the Grunwald district, where stately pre-war villas stand alongside an increasingly eclectic mix of contemporary developments, one 1932 residence has been given a second life. Known as P81 House, the four-story, 300-square-meter home is the result of a three-year restoration led by designer Adam Wierci\u0144ski of Wiercinski-studio<\/a>, who transformed what began as an interior design commission into an architectural reimagining.<\/p>\n

The clients, Karolina and Mariusz, live here with their daughters, Hela and Amelia.
