{"id":14585,"date":"2026-06-29T13:14:06","date_gmt":"2026-06-29T13:14:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/14585\/"},"modified":"2026-06-29T13:14:06","modified_gmt":"2026-06-29T13:14:06","slug":"poland-signs-4-8-billion-contract-for-saab-made-a26-submarines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/14585\/","title":{"rendered":"Poland signs $4.8 billion contract for Saab-made A26 submarines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MILAN \u2014 Saab has finalized a SEK 47 billion ($4.8 billion) contract with the Polish government for the production of three Swedish-made A26 submarines intended to replace the country\u2019s Soviet-era Kilo-class submarines.<\/p>\n<p>The Swedish company announced the long-awaited deal seven months <a href=\"https:\/\/breakingdefense.com\/2025\/11\/poland-selects-swedens-saab-a26-as-future-submarine\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">after<\/a> Poland officially selected Saab\u2019s offer over a multitude of pan-European contenders. <\/p>\n<p>The contract includes a weapon package and a training-support element with final deliveries <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saab.com\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2026\/saab-receives-order-for-three-submarines-for-poland\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">planned<\/a> for 2038.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a very large and long-term deal \u2014 it will make the Polish Navy one of the strongest in all of NATO.
