{"id":17156,"date":"2026-07-15T11:54:20","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T11:54:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/17156\/"},"modified":"2026-07-15T11:54:20","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T11:54:20","slug":"lockheed-martin-begins-production-of-czechias-firehawk-helicopters-in-poland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/17156\/","title":{"rendered":"Lockheed Martin Begins Production of Czechia\u2019s Firehawk Helicopters in Poland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/dronefront.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">&#13;<br \/>\n    <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/1784116460_455_WhatsAppVideo2026-05-15at09.23.58.gif\" alt=\"The Drone Front\" width=\"1280\" height=\"539\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lockheed Martin\u2019s Polish subsidiary PZL Mielec has kicked off the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.lockheedmartin.com\/2026-07-14-Production-of-Europes-First-Sikorsky-FIREHAWK-R-Helicopters-Begins-in-Poland\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">production<\/a> of two of Czechia\u2019s Sikorsky S-70 Firehawk helicopters in Poland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Firehawk \u2014 based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/tag\/black-hawk-helicopter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Black Hawk<\/a> \u2014 is designed for aerial firefighting and emergency response, featuring a 1,000\u2011gallon (3,785-liter) water tank, retractable snorkel, twin engines, and night\u2011vision capability.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will also become a permanent asset of the RescEU pool for cross\u2011border deployment to assist during wildfire, flood, or earthquake emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>First in Europe<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The helicopter is being manufactured for Czechia through a partnership with the Helicopter Alliance company \u010cesk\u00e1 leteck\u00e1 servisn\u00ed (CLS) and US-based United Rotorcraft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Czech Republic is not merely buying helicopters; it is pioneering Europe\u2019s first operational Firehawk capability,\u201d said CLS CEO Monika\u202fKowalczykova.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PZL Mielec is responsible for assembling the Black Hawk airframe, while United Rotorcraft will install the firefighting kit, water tanks, and additional search\u2011and\u2011rescue equipment, as well as conduct crew training and provide long\u2011term sustainment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Lockheed Martin, the solution is intended to provide Czech operators with the same operational maturity relied upon by US agencies such as CAL FIRE and the Los Angeles County Fire Department.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Dennis Goege, VP and Chief Executive for Europe at Lockheed Martin, described the move as \u201cmore than a manufacturing milestone; it is the first concrete step toward a continent\u2011wide, modern aerial firefighting network.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBy delivering proven technology from a European supply chain, we are giving European communities a decisive tool to protect lives, property and ecosystems,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13;
