{"id":17474,"date":"2026-07-17T15:26:06","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T15:26:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/17474\/"},"modified":"2026-07-17T15:26:06","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T15:26:06","slug":"saab-orders-more-than-double-on-poland-submarine-order","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/17474\/","title":{"rendered":"Saab orders more than double on Poland submarine order"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Swedish defence group Saab said Friday that order bookings more than doubled in the second quarter, buoyed by a Polish order for three new submarines, and said it was focused on scaling capacity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDemand for defence and deterrence capabilities remained strong during the quarter, as customers continued to invest in both immediate readiness and long-term capabilities,\u201d chief executive Micael Johansson said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The group said order bookings rose 141 percent to 68.4 billion kronor ($7.1 billion) in the period of April to June, compared to a year earlier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saab noted that this included an order worth 47 billion kronor from Poland for three A26 submarines, the company\u2019s \u201clargest export order to date\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sales meanwhile rose to 25.5 billion kronor, representing a 29-percent increase, and net income rose 41 percent to 2.2 billion kronor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Johansson also said market interest in the groups Gripen fighter jets remained \u201cstrong\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In late June, Ukraine signed a contract to buy 16 of the Saab\u2019s latest Gripen E model aircraft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier the same month Swedish Defence Minister Pal Jonson said Sweden and Brazil had signed a declaration of intent for Brazil to buy 20 additional Gripen fighter jets, on top of the 36 it already has.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe operate in a market with structurally growing demand and remain focused on scaling capacity,\u201d Johansson said, noting the company had now grown to over 29,000 full-time employees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Swedish defence group Saab said Friday that order bookings more than doubled in the second quarter, buoyed by&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":17475,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[704,7298,9],"class_list":["post-17474","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-poland","tag-international","tag-mna","tag-poland"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/17474","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=17474"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/17474\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/17475"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=17474"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=17474"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=17474"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
