The architects at krea.tina have created a space designed with the body, mindfulness and the gentle flow of energy in mind – an interior that envelops and soothes.

The Kahuna Yoga Studio was established in a Kraków tenement building as a space that appeals to the senses from the very start. It is not a typical exercise space – the design stems from the ideas of body awareness, safety and building a relationship with one’s own breath. The architects have translated these values into a language of soft lines, light and materials that encourage connection.

The wave as a design language

The central motif is the wave – a symbol of fluidity and constant flow. Its presence is evident in the rounded walls, the curved forms of the furniture and the gentle transitions between zones. The wave guides the eye and the body, creating a sense of movement without tension. The interior does not dominate with its form; it acts like a calm cycle of inhalation and exhalation, which structures the user’s experience.

Colour, light and materials

The colour palette is based on warm shades of terracotta, powder pink and delicate blue. It creates a cosy atmosphere in which warm tones envelop the space, whilst cooler ones introduce a sense of lightness. Light reflects off matt surfaces and diffuses softly across the fabrics. Curtains appear in various parts of the studio, defining zones without creating a sense of division – they foster fluidity and cohesion.

Soft fabrics on the seating emphasise the idea of cosiness, whilst matt finishes promote concentration. The curtains add a sense of ambience to the interior and allow the space to be subtly adapted. At the centre is the yoga studio – surrounded by undulating lines of walls and textiles. It is flanked by a relaxation area and an intimate changing room, designed with the same sensitivity. The pace changes as soon as you enter: the corridor creates a sense of calm and leads you deeper into a space that operates without loud announcements.

100 square metres of thoughtful design

Kahuna Yoga Studio occupies 100 square metres of the ground floor of the townhouse. It is a space with a distinct atmosphere – combining an intimate feel with energy that supports the practice. The interior is not overwhelming, but rather enveloping, allowing freedom of movement. Form, function and emotion come together here as a single entity, designed with the individual and their experience in mind.

_

About the studio:

Krea.tina is a Kraków-based architectural practice specialising in the design of buildings and interiors, as well as the regeneration of existing structures. It takes a creative approach to design projects. It creates solutions that are simple and clean in form, ones that have a positive impact on the user and their well-being. The priorities in krea.tina’s projects are functionality, coherence, simplicity and meticulous attention to detail. The studio was founded by Martina Weiser, a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Kraków University of Technology with over 10 years’ professional experience. The studio’s projects are characterised by a calm confidence and the awareness that true beauty arises from harmony, not excess. At the Kahuna Yoga Studio, this philosophy has taken on a unique tangible form – a space has been created that demonstrates that architecture, too, can breathe.

design: krea.tina

photography: ONI Studio

See also: Kraków | Interiors | Health | Detail | whiteMAD on Instagram

The interior of the Kahuna yoga studio is a subtle, light-filled space that instils a sense of calm…

[4
1335,58,56
post-19286","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-krakow","tag-health","tag-interiors","tag-krakow
["GET
