Poland summoned the Russian ambassador on Friday and delivered a protest note following the landing of a Russian missile on Polish territory, according to a foreign ministry spokesperson. <\/p>\n
Warsaw confirmed on Friday that the \u200bprojectile, which came down in eastern Poland on Thursday, \u200bwas a Russian Kh-101 missile, Reuters<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n The incident was \u2060the latest in a series of airspace incursions \u200bon NATO’s eastern flank that have fueled fears that \u200bthe war in Ukraine may spill over the alliance’s borders.<\/p>\n “We conveyed to the ambassador our unequivocal condemnation of hostile actions directed \u200bagainst the security of a sovereign state and \u200bits citizens,” Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maciej Wewior told reporters.<\/p>\n “We demand an \u200cend \u2060to actions that endanger the lives and safety of citizens and, at the same time, pose a risk of an aviation disaster.” Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said earlier on Friday that \u200bWarsaw<\/a> had established the missile that landed \u200bin Poland \u2060was produced near Moscow in the second quarter of this year.<\/p>\n
