Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized this during a naval parade in Gdynia, held to mark Armed Forces Day and the 106th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw.

He stressed that the country’s defense depends not only on military capabilities, but also on effective alliances and a consistent foreign policy. In Tusk’s view, Poland should develop cooperation with the countries of Northern Europe and the Baltic region in order to strengthen security in the face of the Russian threat.

Building a modern version of a regional alliance with Sweden, Norway, Finland, and the Baltic states, with the active participation of the British, Danes, and Germans, will make the territories threatened by Russia secure. This is about real action and real alliances. These are new treaties, new agreements, new pacts.

– Donald Tusk

What Poland’s security is based on

Donald Tusk outlined four key areas on which the country’s defense capability depends:

reliable protection of state borders;
prudent and effective foreign policy;
substantial investment in the Armed Forces;
a resilient and strong economy.

The Polish prime minister called on representatives of political forces to maintain a common position on issues of defense and the inviolability of the country’s borders. He noted that the military, border guards, police, and taxpayers are involved in protecting them.

Today, we proudly tell the whole world, but above all those who want to violate our borders: “You will not succeed without the consent of the Polish state.” We have deployed thousands of soldiers, border guards, and police officers for this purpose. This is also the effort of Polish taxpayers.

– Donald Tusk

On August 15, Poland celebrated Polish Armed Forces Day.
