TodayPress TV<\/a> reports that the country\u2019s Deputy Minister of National Defence, Cezary Tomczyk, made the statement.<\/p>\n\u201cIn every district \u2014 in the areas bordering Russia, Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine \u2014 a special warehouse is being established where engineering troops are stockpiling equipment and weapons,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
According to the deputy minister, 15 such warehouses have already been established, and their number is expected to reach 29 in the coming months. In addition, Polish forces are preparing to establish minefields along the eastern border.<\/p>\n
On August 21, Polish Defence Minister W\u0142adys\u0142aw Kosiniak-Kamysz said that the country was ready to close all border crossings with Russia. He noted that the same measures could be taken along the border with Belarus. The minister said that Poland has fortifications and reinforced defensive structures for this purpose.<\/p>\n
Deputy Defence Minister Cezary Tomczyk, meanwhile, said that Poland would need 7\u201314 days to close the border crossings.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Polish officials said that the fortifications along the eastern border had been \u201cturned into a sieve.\u201d<\/p>\n
