Former Megadeth<\/a> guitarist Chris Poland discussed the song \u201cLiar\u201d from the band\u2019s 1988 album \u201cSo Far, So Good\u2026 So What?\u201d that Dave Mustaine wrote about him in a recent interview with Paul Stephenson of VRP Rocks, a veteran of UK radio, as per Blabbermouth<\/a>. Poland responded as follows when asked if Mustaine\u2019s public denunciation of him as a \u201cliar\u201d hurt his career at the time. <\/p>\n Well, I\u2019m sure it did affect my career, but my career was playing instrumental, whacked-out fusion [music]. I had a handful of people that listened to my music. Those people didn\u2019t even listen to\u00a0Megadeth, so it didn\u2019t matter. And then when [Mustaine] asked me to come back [to\u00a0Megadeth] \u2014 I don\u2019t hold any grudges. Sometimes I get a little upset, if I think about it, but I never read [Dave\u2019s] books. People would tell me stuff he said [about me], and I\u2019d be, like, \u2018What are you gonna do?\u2019<\/p>\n I\u2019m writing a book [called\u00a0\u2018Now Leaving Metalopolis\u2019] right now with [music journalist, podcaster and author]\u00a0Matt Herring. And some of that stuff \u2014 I have my little rebuttal about stuff that was said [by\u00a0Dave] about me. \u2018Cause, first of all, I don\u2019t hit girls. There\u2019s a lot of things he said [over the years about me] that\u2019s total B.S. But you know what? Like I said, I didn\u2019t, and I don\u2019t, hold a grudge. It\u2019s not worth it. And you know who helped me with that was [late\u00a0Megadeth\u00a0drummer]\u00a0Nick Menza. Cause\u00a0Dave\u00a0should have taken care of\u00a0Nick, and it would get me upset, and I\u2019d get all heated, and\u00a0Nick\u00a0would go, \u2018Dude, you can\u2019t carry that around, man. You gotta let all that go.\u2019 Yeah, I learned a lot from\u00a0Nick, just in the short time that we were together, I miss him.<\/p>\n Poland responded as follows when asked about the current state of his book.<\/p>\n Oh, it\u2019s close [to being completed]. It\u2019s close. And it\u2019s good, \u2019cause I told all the funny stories. I mean, you get to the part where it\u2019s the heavy stuff, and it\u2019s, like, yeah, it\u2019s heavy, but a lot of people have been through that. And it is what it is.
