Air traffic was temporarily restricted in the area around Krak\u00f3w, Poland, after contact was lost with a small private plane. Due to the incident, some commercial flights had to be rerouted.<\/p>\n

The restrictions were imposed for safety reasons while the relevant authorities investigated the situation involving the aircraft.<\/p>\n

On the afternoon of August 24, the loss of contact between air traffic controllers and a private Cessna aircraft prompted the activation of safety measures and the deployment of military aircraft.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After the pilot stopped responding to air traffic controllers\u2019 inquiries, the airspace over Krak\u00f3w and the airport was closed. As a result, a number of commercial flights scheduled to land in Krak\u00f3w were diverted to other airports.<\/p>\n

A pair of Czech Gripen fighter jets took off to intercept the aircraft; escorted by them, the light aircraft landed safely in Krakow. The airport then resumed normal operations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Poland is once again not involved in key negotiations regarding Ukraine \u2013 TVP World<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Broniatowski is convinced<\/a> that Poland cannot be ignored indefinitely. \u201cWe cannot be sidelined because of our geography,\u201d he emphasized, referring to the country\u2019s key role in logistics and support for Ukraine.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the U.S. will provide Poland with a $2 billion loan to purchase weapons: F-35 fighter jets, Patriot air defense missile systems, and Abrams<\/a> tanks.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Poland signed<\/a> an agreement with the U.S.<\/a> for the delivery of 96 AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopters, along with a logistics and training package, for a total of $10 billion.<\/p>\n
