Australia’s top men’s singles player Alex de Minaur will come home to lead the nation’s latest Davis Cup challenge in Brisbane next month.<\/p>\n

Australia will play Poland at Pat Rafter Arena on September 19 and 20, days after de Minaur’s run at the US Open at Flushing Meadows.<\/p>\n

Australia, currently number eight in Davis Cup rankings and 28-time champions, will need to beat Poland in the World Group tie to advance to the Davis Cup qualifiers next year.<\/p>\n

Davis Cup tennis returns to Brisbane<\/a><\/p>\n

The countries will face off in a 2026 World Group I tie at the Pat Rafter Arena on September 19 and 20.<\/p>\n

“There is nothing quite like representing the green and gold and to do it at home makes it even more special,” de Minaur said in a Tennis Australia statement.<\/p>\n

“We know what’s at stake against Poland and we will be going out there with one goal \u2013 to get the win and put ourselves back into the qualifiers.<\/p>\n

“We love playing in front of the Aussie fans and we will be ready to fight for every point.”<\/p>\n

“Alex loves playing for Australia. Having him lead the team in Brisbane is a huge boost,” Australian coach Lleyton Hewitt said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“He has had some incredible Davis Cup performances for us over the years and I know how much it means to him to represent his country.<\/p>\n

“We have got a tough tie ahead of us against Poland, but playing at home gives us a great opportunity.”<\/p>\n

The tie will be the second time the two nations have played each other in Davis Cup.
