Digital Affairs Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski announced the move, stating that repeated warnings and reports submitted by Polish cybersecurity authorities yielded an inadequate response from the company.

The minister cited findings from CERT Polska, Poland’s national cybersecurity incident response team, which tested 122 reported advertisements identified as scams. According to Gawkowski, Meta refused to remove 106 of the flagged ads—representing 86.8% of the sample—while taking down only 10 and leaving six without any response.

Urging immediate intervention by the European Commission, Gawkowski called on Meta to deploy robust tools to eliminate false advertising, financial scams, and the promotion of illegal applications. The government’s regulatory push follows growing domestic scrutiny over Meta’s content moderation practices, which recently led Polish billionaire Rafal Brzoska to file a separate lawsuit against the company over unauthorized, fake advertisements using his image.

Poland has formally requested the European Commission to impose a €250 million ($291.3 million) fine on Meta, accusing…

[2
13991,1699,13996,14000,13993,13997,268,13999,3990,13990,13998,1698,13992,13988,13989,454,9,13994,1066,13995
post-22925","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-poland","tag-ad-tech","tag-advertising","tag-creative-work","tag-customer-experience","tag-digital-marketing","tag-emerging-trends","tag-european-commission","tag-expert-opinions","tag-industry-insights","tag-influencer-marketing","tag-innovative-strategies","tag-marketing","tag-martech","tag-media-news","tag-mena","tag-middle-east","tag-poland","tag-pr-news","tag-startups","tag-technology-trends
["GET
