Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk announced the planned trials during a\u00a0visit to\u00a0the Nova-Demba training ground.<\/p>\n<p>The military will practice the use of\u00a0missiles with a\u00a0range of\u00a0roughly 1,000 kilometers. Residents across Poland are expected to\u00a0receive special notifications in\u00a0advance of\u00a0the tests.<\/p>\n<p>At\u00a0present, the Polish armed forces rely only on\u00a0foreign-made missiles capable of\u00a0operating at\u00a0such distances. These are primarily aviation munitions designed for use by\u00a0multirole fighter aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>Warsaw is\u00a0also moving ahead with efforts to\u00a0develop its own long-range weapon. According to\u00a0the IAR agency, testing of\u00a0the Barracuda-500 long-range cruise missile began several weeks ago as\u00a0part of\u00a0Poland\u2019s\u00a0cooperation with the US\u00a0defense industry.<\/p>\n<p>The project involves a\u00a0Polish defense holding company and Anduril Industries.
