Meeting at the Warsaw School of Economics<\/p>\n
Ibete Fern\u00e1ndez Hern\u00e1ndez, Cuba\u2019s ambassador to Poland, paid a visit to the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH), Poland\u2019s oldest university.<\/p>\n
At the university, she was received by the Vice Rector for International Relations, Mr. Jacek Prokop; the Dean of the SGH School of World Economics, Mr. Mariusz Prochniak; and the Deputy Director of the Center for International Cooperation and the Department of Economics, Ms. Malgorzata Znoykowicz-Wierzbicka.<\/p>\n
They discussed impressions of the seminar held last year in Havana: \u201cCuba and Poland: Comparative Experiences\u201d and the possibility of continuing it.\u00a0<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the Ambassador commented on the Cuban government\u2019s Economic and Social Program, which involves profound economic transformations. She also highlighted the importance of continuing to promote these knowledge exchanges, which must be adapted to the specific context of each country; in Cuba\u2019s case, economic policies have had to be adapted to coexist with a commercial and financial blockade for over 60 years.<\/p>\n
The meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen cooperative ties with the center and to continue bolstering bilateral relations within the framework of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Cooperation in the Fields of Education, Culture, and Sports.<\/p>\n
