WARSAW, Ind. (WPTA) – For Jon Larsen and his wife Diana, three taps mean three simple words: \u201cI love you.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery time I would see her in the hospital, I would come up and tap her. If family or friends were around, when we had visitors, I would tap her all the time, just to let her know,\u201d Jon said.<\/p>\n
Diana has Glioblastoma, a deadly disease that attacks healthy brain tissue and causes tumors. She\u2019s currently in hospice and isn\u2019t sure how long she has left to live.<\/p>\n
Jon said every hospital visit, and every loving shoulder tap, led him to make a permanent decision: a tattoo on his hand saying \u201c1 2 3\u2033: symbolizing how he and his wife express their love.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a surprise for her, but it was for everlasting remembrance, and it\u2019s still \u2018one, two, three all the time,\u2019\u201d Jon said. <\/p>\n
Diana said when Jon first came home with his fresh ink, she was touched, and she immediately wanted a matching tattoo of her own.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo me, it\u2019s a, a bond between the two of us,\u201d Diana said.<\/p>\n
Because of her health, Diana couldn\u2019t visit any tattoo shops in person, but when Nathan Underneath, the owner of Moving Pictures Tattoo Cinema, heard her story, he decided to visit the Larsen home and tattoo Diana for free. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis isn\u2019t something I typically do,\u201d he said. \u201cNormally, I have a one to two month waiting list, and I certainly never tattoo outside of my studio, but under these circumstances, I definitely wanted to make it happen for them.\u201c<\/p>\n
Now, Diana wears a symbol of the love she shares with her husband: a bond that carried her through the unimaginable.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we found out we had the tumor, he, you know, some people would bail out and be bought, gone, and he stayed, by my side,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
