A group of ultra-Orthodox Israelis faced an antisemitic verbal attack and physical intimidation<\/a> at Krakow Airport in Poland on Wednesday, after a man harassed them while they waited to board a return flight to Israel.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred inside the terminal and was recorded on video that later circulated online. In the footage, the man approaches the group, shouts abuse, and orders them to leave the country. Among those targeted was Rabbi Simcha Krakowski, who heads the Beit Hatavshil charity in Bnei Brak.<\/p>\n

Verbal Abuse Escalates Into Physical Intimidation<\/p>\n

According to one of the travelers, the group had been praying quietly while standing off to the side of the terminal. They did not block walkways or interfere with airport operations. \u201cWe were praying and were just about to finish,\u201d the traveler said. \u201cWe were standing to the side and did not disturb anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, the situation changed suddenly. Out of nowhere, the witness said, the man shouted, \u201c\u2018Don\u2019t pray.\u2019 I tried to tell him that we were finishing the prayer, but he continued to shout and go wild.\u201d<\/p>\n

At first, members of the group hesitated to react. They believed the man might be an airport employee or a police officer and wanted to avoid trouble before boarding.<\/p>\n

That caution did not stop the confrontation from escalating. The man shouted, \u201cThis is Poland, not Israel. What are you doing here?\u201d while moving aggressively toward the group.\u00a0At one point, he raised his hands and shoved one of the men, an act also visible in the footage.<\/p>\n

Police Detain Suspect After Incident Reported<\/p>\n

Eventually, airport police arrived and intervened. Officers separated the attacker from the Israeli travelers and detained him for questioning. Polish authorities later identified the suspect as Rados\u0142aw Bazyluk. Police confirmed that they detained him and opened an investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n

No one from the Israeli group suffered injuries.<\/p>\n

After officers removed the man from the area, the travelers boarded their flight and returned to Israel.<\/p>\n
