{"id":5548,"date":"2026-05-08T11:06:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T11:06:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/5548\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T11:06:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T11:06:14","slug":"poland-negotiating-second-batch-of-146-borsuk-ifvs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/5548\/","title":{"rendered":"Poland Negotiating Second Batch of 146 Borsuk IFVs\u00a0\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t<a href=\"http:\/\/militaryai.ai\/\" aria-label=\"WhatsApp Video 2026-01-06 at 04.30.24\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/poland\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/WhatsApp-Video-2026-01-06-at-04.30.24.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"no-lazyload\" width=\"1470\" height=\"620\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Poland is negotiating the acquisition of an additional batch of Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles with the platform\u2019s manufacturers.<\/p>\n<p>The second batch would consist of 146 vehicles, <a href=\"https:\/\/defence24.pl\/przemysl\/umowa-na-kolejne-borsuki-tuz-tuz-general-ujawnil-liczby\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">according<\/a> to Polish outlet Defence24.<\/p>\n<p>The move comes months after the Polish Armed Forces <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2025\/12\/08\/poland-borsuk-delivery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">received the first batch of 15 Borsuks<\/a> in December. <\/p>\n<p>In March 2025, Poland <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2025\/03\/28\/poland-ifv-borsuk-1b-contract\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">signed a 6.57-billion-zloty ($1.83-billion) contract<\/a> with the Polish Armaments Group and Huta Stalowa Wola for the procurement of 111 vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Deliveries of the first batch are scheduled through 2029.<\/p>\n<p>Requirement of Over 1,000 Vehicles<\/p>\n<p>With the second batch included, the Borsuk fleet would expand to 257 vehicles, enough to equip four mechanized infantry battalions, along with 25 vehicles allocated for reserve and training purposes.<\/p>\n<p>The Polish Army initially planned to procure enough Borsuks to equip 10 battalions \u2014 around 588 vehicles \u2014 by 2035.
