A grande noite da crítica chegou finalmente e os especialistas deixaram bem claro o que sentiram sobre os maiores e melhores filmes e séries de 2025 durante a 31.ª edição dos Critics Choice Awards. A crítica, enquanto exercício de leitura artística, continua a ser uma ferramenta essencial para compreender como a arte reflete e molda a cultura contemporânea.

O último ano trouxe obras notáveis, sendo que uma das mais comentadas foi o terror histórico de Ryan Coogler, Sinners. Como seria de esperar, o filme com Michael B. Jordan, Miles Catton, Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell e Wunmi Mosaku conquistou vários dos prémios principais. Curiosamente, acabou por empatar com a adaptação Netflix de Guillermo del Toro, Frankenstein, partilhando o título de filme mais premiado da noite.

Ambos os filmes levaram para casa quatro prémios, incluindo distinções de interpretação. Jacob Elordi venceu o prémio de Melhor Ator Secundário pela sua intensa interpretação do monstro de Frankenstein, enquanto Catton recebeu o troféu de Melhor Jovem Ator/Atriz pelo seu papel de pregador em ascensão. Coogler foi também distinguido pela escrita, arrecadando o prémio de Melhor Argumento Original, enquanto a diretora de casting, Francine Maisler, venceu na categoria de Melhor Elenco e Casting.

Entre os outros grandes vencedores da noite, o novo filme de Paul Thomas Anderson, One Battle After Another, também saiu em destaque, conquistando três prémios, incluindo Melhor Realizador e Melhor Argumento Adaptado para o próprio Anderson. O filme foi ainda reconhecido na categoria de Melhor Filme, uma das mais disputadas desta edição.

Houve também vitórias isoladas que se revelaram especialmente saborosas. Marty Supreme, de Josh Safdie, foi apenas distinguido uma vez, mas em grande: Timothée Chalamet venceu o prémio de Melhor Ator pelo papel principal, numa vitória que muitos já apontam como um prenúncio para os próximos Oscars. Ainda assim, talvez o triunfo mais marcante tenha sido o de Amy Madigan, premiada como Melhor Atriz Secundária pela sua comovente interpretação de Aunt Gladys em Weapons, um dos fenómenos do verão passado.

Na televisão, não surpreendeu a vitória da minissérie trágica da Netflix, Adolescence, que somou quatro prémios, incluindo Melhor Minissérie. O projeto arrecadou ainda três distinções de interpretação para Stephen Graham, Owen Cooper e Erin Doherty, exatamente as mesmas que já tinham conquistado nos 77.º Emmy Awards.

Entre as produções mais aclamadas, destacaram-se ainda o drama médico The Pitt e a comédia revelação The Studio, ambos com três prémios. The Pitt levou Melhor Série Dramática e dois prémios de interpretação para Noah Wyle e Katherine LaNasa, repetindo o sucesso dos Emmys. Já The Studio arrecadou o prémio de Melhor Série de Comédia, com Seth Rogen e Ike Barinholtz premiados como Melhor Ator e Melhor Ator Secundário, respetivamente, uma estreia para Barinholtz, que conquistou o seu primeiro troféu pela série.
