Agora, estas part\u00edculas com menos de <strong>5 mm de tamanho<\/strong>, foram encontradas no interior profundo dos nossos ossos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUm conjunto significativo de investiga\u00e7\u00f5es sugere que<strong> os micropl\u00e1sticos podem penetrar profundamente no tecido \u00f3sseo, como a medula \u00f3ssea<\/strong>, e potencialmente causar perturba\u00e7\u00f5es no seu metabolismo\u201d, diz \u00e0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/microplastics-found-deep-inside-human-bones-scientists-warn\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener noreferrer\" class=\"ext-link\">Science Alert<\/a> o cientista e m\u00e9dico brasileiro<strong> Rodrigo Bueno de Oliveira<\/strong>, um dos autores de um <a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s00198-025-07580-4\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener noreferrer\" class=\"ext-link\">estudo<\/a> da Universidade Estadual de Campinas, publicado este ano na Osteoporosis International.<\/p>\n<p>Para al\u00e9m de poderem <strong>reduzir o crescimento \u00f3sseo,<\/strong> estas part\u00edculas podem ainda provocar <strong>perturba\u00e7\u00f5es nos osteoclastos<\/strong> (c\u00e9lulas que apoiam o crescimento e a repara\u00e7\u00e3o dos ossos) podem enfraquecer a estrutura \u00f3ssea, o que torna os ossos mais vulner\u00e1veis a deformidades e fraturas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEstudos in vitro com c\u00e9lulas de tecido \u00f3sseo demonstraram que os micropl\u00e1sticos <strong>comprometem a viabilidade celular,<\/strong> aceleram o envelhecimento das c\u00e9lulas e alteram a sua diferencia\u00e7\u00e3o, al\u00e9m de promoverem inflama\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d, explica Bueno de Oliveira.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOs efeitos adversos observados culminaram, de forma preocupante, na interrup\u00e7\u00e3o do crescimento esquel\u00e9tico dos animais\u201d, ressalta ainda.<\/p>\n<p>Embora isto possa n\u00e3o se traduzir diretamente para os ossos humanos, a preval\u00eancia global de <strong>osteoporose<\/strong> \u2013 uma condi\u00e7\u00e3o em que os ossos se tornam mais fr\u00e1geis e propensos a fraturas \u2013 est\u00e1 a aumentar.
