I se<br \/>\nspulberaser\u0103 toate visurile. \u0218i Dinc\u0103 era pierdut. Rug\u0103mintea lui a ajuns p\u00e2n\u0103 la domnul Grigore Ghica, prin<br \/>\nintermediul t\u00e2n\u0103rului boier Gheorghe Sion, la care intrase mama lui ca slujnic\u0103<br \/>\ndup\u0103 ce fusese eliberat\u0103 din robie. <\/p>\n<p>Domnul a f\u0103g\u0103duit s\u0103 se ocupe de caz, mai ales c\u0103 Profira Cantacuzino \u00eei<br \/>\nera m\u0103tu\u0219\u0103 \u0219i nu se punea problema s\u0103 primeasc\u0103 un refuz. A\u0219a se face c\u0103, \u00een aceea\u0219i sear\u0103,<br \/>\ntr\u0103sura lui Vod\u0103 Ghica a intrat \u00een curtea palatului. \u201eDup\u0103 mas\u0103, domnul i-a cerut m\u0103tu\u015fii s\u0103-l<br \/>\nasculte numai \u00eentre patru ochi \u00eentruc\u00e2t avea s\u0103-i cear\u0103 ceva. B\u0103tr\u00e2na doamn\u0103<br \/>\ns-a gr\u0103bit s\u0103 r\u0103spund\u0103 c\u0103 dorin\u0163ele M\u0103riei sale, pentru ea, erau ordine, \u00eens\u0103<br \/>\nc\u00e2nd a aflat ce-i cere, deodat\u0103 s-a \u00eentunecat la fa\u0163\u0103. Orice s\u0103 i se cear\u0103,<br \/>\norice, numai asta nu. \u015ei i-a spus adev\u0103rul adev\u0103rat: b\u0103iatul era fiul<br \/>\nr\u0103posatului ei b\u0103rbat; cu c\u00e2t cre\u015ftea, cu at\u00e2t \u00eenf\u0103\u0163i\u015farea lui o amintea pe cea<br \/>\na omului pe care-l iubise. B\u0103iatul crescuse l\u00e2ng\u0103 ea de c\u00e2nd era mic, niciodat\u0103<br \/>\nnu se desp\u0103r\u0163iser\u0103. Dac\u0103 i l-ar lua, ea ar muri. Domnitorul a plecat foarte nemul\u0163umit<br \/>\nde \u00eend\u0103r\u0103tnicia b\u0103tr\u00e2nei doamne, hot\u0103r\u00e2t s\u0103-\u015fi foloseasc\u0103 autoritatea. \u00cen josul<br \/>\nsc\u0103rilor, t\u00e2n\u0103rul buc\u0103tar \u00eel p\u00e2ndea cu privirea nelini\u015ftit\u0103. Domnitorul i-a<br \/>\nadresat c\u00e2teva vorbe, m\u0103rturisindu-i c\u0103 nu o putuse convinge pe st\u0103p\u00e2n\u0103, rug\u00e2ndu-l<br \/>\ntotodat\u0103 s\u0103 mai a\u015ftepte pu\u0163in: avea el s\u0103 g\u0103seasc\u0103 ceva\u201c, continu\u0103 povestea<br \/>\nNeagu Djuvara. <\/p>\n<p>\u00cen vreme<br \/>\nce Grigore Ghica \u00ee\u0219i aduna mini\u0219trii la ceas de sear\u0103 pentru a vedea cum<br \/>\nrezolv\u0103 problema \u021biganilor robi, aghiotantul s\u0103u a intrat \u00een sala Sfatului \u015fi i-a spus c\u0103 aga dore\u0219te s\u0103 fie primit.<br \/>\nAjuns \u00een fa\u021ba domnului, aga a adus vestea tragediei: buc\u0103tarul \u021bigan al doamnei<br \/>\nCantacuzino a ucis-o cu un foc de pistol pe camerista fran\u0163uzoaic\u0103, apoi s-a<br \/>\nomor\u00e2t \u0219i el. Atunci domnul Grigore Ghica, alb ca varul, a ie\u015fit din sala Sfatului,<br \/>\nporuncind mini\u015ftrilor s\u0103 nu plece de acolo p\u00e2n\u0103 ce nu vor fi \u00eentocmit proiectul<br \/>\nde lege pentru emanciparea \u0163iganilor. Peste c\u00e2teva zile, la 22 decembrie 1855,<br \/>\nlegea era adoptat\u0103 de Divan \u00een unanimitate, iar a doua zi era promulgat\u0103 de domn. A\u0219a au devenit<br \/>\nliberi ultimii 5.000 de robi \u021bigani din Moldova. Este povestea lui<br \/>\nDinc\u0103, dar fiecare \u021bigan rob a avut drama sa. Vreme de aproape 500 de ani, cu<br \/>\nmult peste sclavia african\u0103, care a durat 300 de ani, romii au fost sclavi: ai<br \/>\nvoievozilor, ai domnilor \u0219i ai m\u0103n\u0103stirilor. <\/p>\n<p>Din<br \/>\ncauza legilor de-a dreptul absurde, au fost situa\u021bii c\u00e2nd un copil n\u0103scut rob<br \/>\nera mo\u0219tenit jum\u0103tate de un boier, iar cealalt\u0103 jum\u0103tate de altul, atunci c\u00e2nd<br \/>\np\u0103rin\u021bii s\u0103i erau robi la doi st\u0103p\u00e2ni diferi\u021bi. \u201e\u00cen aceast\u0103 situa\u021bie s-a aflat<br \/>\njup\u00e2neasa Zmaranda Racovi\u021b\u0103, care \u0219i-a c\u0103s\u0103torit \u021biganca pe nume Teodora cu<br \/>\n\u021biganul Roman, al m\u0103n\u0103stirii C\u0103priana. Cei doi robi au avut un singur fiu, pe<br \/>\nnume Vasili, ceea ce a \u00eensemnat c\u0103 jum\u0103tate din b\u0103iat apar\u021binea m\u0103n\u0103stirii,<br \/>\npentru c\u0103 tat\u0103l s\u0103u era rob m\u0103n\u0103stiresc, \u0219i jum\u0103tate apar\u021binea jup\u00e2nesei,<br \/>\npentru c\u0103 mama sa era sclav\u0103 boiereasc\u0103. \u00cen cele din urm\u0103, Zmaranda Racovi\u021b\u0103 a<br \/>\ndonat partea ei de sclav m\u0103n\u0103stirii\u201c, afl\u0103m din documentarul \u201eRobia \u0219i judecata<br \/>\n\u021biganilor\u201c a lui Mihai Gheorghe, publicat \u00een Analele Dobrogei. <\/p>\n<p>St\u0103p\u00e2nii<br \/>\naveau drept de via\u021b\u0103 \u0219i de moarte asupra sclavilor. Drept dovad\u0103, faptul c\u0103<br \/>\njup\u00e2ni\u021ba Marica, din Albe\u0219ti, care a omor\u00e2t doi copii romi, nu a p\u0103\u021bit nimic.<br \/>\nJudecat\u0103 la 15 iunie 1634, pe vremea voievodului Matei Basarab, ea a primit ini\u021bial condamnarea la moarte, \u00eens\u0103, \u00een<br \/>\ncele din urm\u0103, a fost iertat\u0103, dup\u0103 ce a pl\u0103tit o desp\u0103gubire.<\/p>\n<p>Exist\u0103<br \/>\nnenum\u0103rate cazuri \u0219i de abuz sexual asupra femeilor de etnie rom\u0103. \u201e\u021aiganii<br \/>\nv\u0103tra\u0219i nu cuno\u0219teau alt\u0103 lege dec\u00e2t bunul plac al st\u0103p\u00e2nului, care nu se sfia<br \/>\ns\u0103-i smulg\u0103 so\u021bului so\u021bia, s\u0103 ia mama de l\u00e2ng\u0103 copiii ei \u0219i s\u0103 profite de fata<br \/>\nt\u00e2n\u0103r\u0103 c\u00e2nd i-o cerea interesul sau destr\u0103b\u0103larea\u201c, scria Andrei Oi\u0219teanu \u00een<br \/>\nvolumul \u201eSexualitate \u0219i societate. Istoricul Ioan Valentin Negoi aduce \u00een cartea sa<br \/>\nexemplul unui copil rom, pe care-l chema Cr\u0103ciun, care a fost v\u00e2ndut de trei<br \/>\nori \u00een decurs de numai c\u00e2teva zile. La 3 februarie 1671, copilul este v\u00e2ndut de<br \/>\nc\u0103tre monahul Rafail \u0219i fiul s\u0103u Eftimie lui Oancea din Ia\u0219i. A doua zi, Oancea<br \/>\n\u00eel vinde lui Neagoe din Domne\u0219ti \u0219i tot \u00een aceea\u0219i zi acest copil este dat ca<br \/>\nr\u0103scump\u0103rare \u201eCap pentru cap\u201c M\u0103n\u0103stirii Arge\u0219. Primele tranzac\u021bii s-au f\u0103cut<br \/>\n\u00een schimbul sumei de 15 unghi, o veche moned\u0103 ungureasc\u0103, care valora 200 de<br \/>\nbani.<\/p>\n<p>Abuzurile<br \/>\nau fost nenum\u0103rate \u0219i romii le-au suportat at\u00e2ta amar de veacuri. Toat\u0103 drama<br \/>\nacestei etnii a fost dezv\u0103luit\u0103 \u0219i de Mihail Kog\u0103lniceanu \u00eentr-un discurs<br \/>\nmemorabil rostit \u00een aula Academiei Rom\u00e2ne la 1 aprilie 1891: \u201eAm v\u00e2ndut \u015fi am<br \/>\ncump\u0103rat at\u00e2tea suflete de \u021bigani. Chiar pe uli\u0163ele ora\u015fului Ia\u015fi, \u00een<br \/>\ntinere\u0163ele mele, am v\u0103zut fiin\u0163e omene\u015fti purt\u00e2nd lan\u0163uri la m\u00e2ini sau la<br \/>\npicioare, ba unii chiar coarne de fier aninate de frunte \u015fi legate prin colane<br \/>\n\u00eemprejurul g\u00e2tului. B\u0103t\u0103i crude, os\u00e2ndiri la foame \u015fi la fum, \u00eenchidere \u00een<br \/>\n\u00eenchisori particulare, arunca\u0163i goi \u00een z\u0103pad\u0103 sau \u00een r\u00e2uri \u00eenghe\u0163ate: iat\u0103<br \/>\nsoarta nenoroci\u0163ilor \u0163igani! Apoi dispre\u0163ul pentru sfin\u0163enia \u015fi leg\u0103turile de<br \/>\nfamilie. Femeea luat\u0103 de la b\u0103rbat, fata r\u0103pit\u0103 de la p\u0103rin\u0163i, copiii rup\u0163i de<br \/>\nla s\u00e2nul n\u0103sc\u0103torilor lor \u015fi r\u0103sle\u0163i, \u015fi desp\u0103r\u0163i\u0163i unii de al\u0163ii, \u015fi v\u00e2ndu\u0163i<br \/>\nca vitele la deosebi\u0163i cump\u0103r\u0103tori \u00een cele patru col\u0163uri ale Rom\u00e2niei. Nici<br \/>\numanitatea, nici religiunea, nici legea civil\u0103 nu aveau ocrotire pentru aceste<br \/>\nnenorocite fiin\u0163e; era un spectacol grozav, strig\u0103tor la cer. De aceea<br \/>\npov\u0103\u0163ui\u0163i de spiritul secolului, de legile omenirei, un num\u0103r de boeri b\u0103tr\u00e2ni<br \/>\n\u015fi tineri au \u00eentreprins de a sp\u0103la patria lor de ru\u0219inea sclaviei\u201c. <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\tGala<br \/>\nGalaction \u0219i primii s\u0103i tovar\u0103\u0219i de joac\u0103<\/p>\n<p>Teologul \u0219i scriitorul Gala Galaction a copil\u0103rit<br \/>\nprintre ace\u0219ti copii robi. Mult mai t\u00e2rziu, \u00een anul 1913, povestea \u00een \u201eFlac\u0103ra<br \/>\nliterar\u0103\u201c c\u0103 ace\u0219ti copii au fost tovar\u0103\u0219ii s\u0103i de joac\u0103: \u201ePe c\u00e2t de pu\u0163in cunosc<br \/>\ntrecutul acestui neam ciudat, pe at\u00e2t de bine cunosc apuc\u0103turile, treburile \u015fi<br \/>\nsufletul \u0163ig\u0103nesc. \u00cen locul \u2013 alt\u0103dat\u0103 plin de p\u0103duri oarbe \u2013 \u00een care m\u2019am n\u0103scut, fusese, p\u00e2n\u0103 la<br \/>\nsecularizare, un schit de c\u0103lug\u0103ri. Schitul avusese peste cincizeci de familii de robi \u0163igani&#8230; Copiii<br \/>\nacestor robi m\u0103n\u0103stire\u015fti au fost tovar\u0103\u0219ii mei de jocuri \u015fi \u00eent\u00e2ii mei<br \/>\nprieteni. Fie c\u0103 erau mai mari, fie c\u0103 erau mai iste\u0163i dec\u00e2t mine, ace\u0219ti<br \/>\nprieteni m\u0103 exploatau cu \u00eendem\u00e2nare.
