Ukrainian forces carried out a coordinated wave of strikes against key russian military and logistical targets overnight into May 15, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The operation targeted fuel infrastructure, naval assets, ammunition depots, and electronic warfare facilities across both russian territory and temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine.
One of the most significant targets was the Ryazan Oil Refinery in russia’s Ryazan region. A large-scale fire was recorded at the facility following the strike. The refinery is considered one of the largest oil-processing plants in russia, with an annual refining capacity estimated at around 17 million tons of oil.
The refinery produces gasoline, diesel fuel, and jet fuel used to sustain russian occupation forces. Striking such facilities fits into Ukraine’s broader strategy of weakening russia’s military logistics and disrupting fuel supplies supporting combat operations.
In addition to the refinery attack, Ukrainian forces reportedly struck two naval vessels stationed in Kaspiysk on the Caspian Sea. The targets included a small missile boat and a minesweeper located at the naval base.
Ukrainian forces also targeted several ammunition depots in the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk region, including facilities near Yepifanivka and Rovenky. Ammunition storage sites remain high-priority targets as Ukraine seeks to reduce russia’s artillery and missile capabilities during ongoing combat operations.
Additional strikes were carried out against a logistics warehouse in Raihorodka in temporarily occupied Luhansk region and an electronic warfare equipment depot in Dmytrivka in Donetsk region.
In temporarily occupied Mariupol, Ukrainian forces reportedly hit a coastal technical reconnaissance post operated by russia’s FSB. The strike damaged the MR-232 Bussol-S radar system and an optical-electronic module. Another strike in the city targeted a fuel storage depot, further adding pressure on russian military supply infrastructure in southern territories.
As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian border guard UAV operators report destroying ammunition depots, vehicles, artillery, and electronic warfare systems in a new wave of coordinated strikes.
