WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump on Monday said that Russia lost control over its diesel and oil industry amid the war with Ukraine.
“Russia has unfortunately lost control of its Diesel Oil Industry due to its War with Ukraine,” Trump wrote on TRUTH Social. “A large number of their Diesel refineries have been blown up and are, at least temporarily, out of commission.”
He said that the situation was “ridiculous” and that the war had to end.
“This ridiculous and never ending War with Ukraine must be ended,” Trump’s post concluded. “The whole World suffers as 25,000 people, mostly soldiers, are being killed each month. What a shame!”
Over the weekend, Ukraine launched an overnight drone and missile attack targeting Moscow on the final day of Russia’s parliamentary elections.
According to Russian officials, air defenses destroyed 1,110 Ukrainian drones in response.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the strikes used long-range drones and domestically made Flamingo and Pelican weapons to target oil and logistics facilities.
This attack comes the same week Trump leaves to go to the United Nations.
The president is currently deciding if he should launch new strikes against Iran’s regime.
