BAKU \/ KYIV \/ MOSCOW – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday he is ready to hold the next stage of negotiations with Russia in Azerbaijan, local media reported.<\/p>\n

He made the remarks following his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in the Azerbaijani city of Gabala, Report news agency said, citing a press statement.<\/p>\n

Zelensky noted that Ukraine is prepared to resume a trilateral negotiating format and conduct talks in Azerbaijan in the near future, recalling previous meetings held in T\u00fcrkiye and Switzerland with US participation. \u00a0<\/p>\n

7 killed, over 50 injured in Russian attack on Ukraine<\/p>\n

Russia carried out a large-scale overnight attack against Ukraine on Saturday, killing at least seven people and injuring more than 50 others, Ukrainian authorities said.<\/p>\n

Zelensky said the strike involved drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles, with casualties reported in four regions.<\/p>\n

The city of Dnipro was the main target. Five people were killed and 46 others injured in the attack that lasted for more than 10 hours, according to Dnipropetrovsk Governor Oleksandr Ganzha.<\/p>\n

Emergency crews were continuing rescue operations in Dnipro as of Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

In the northern city of Nizhyn, two men were killed in the strikes involving drones and a ballistic missile, said the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration.<\/p>\n

The Ukrainian Air Force said its air defenses intercepted most of the Russian weapons. However, 13 missiles and 36 drones hit 23 locations, according to preliminary data.<\/p>\n

On the same day, Russia’s defense ministry said its forces hit military-industrial and energy targets in Ukraine overnight.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, three people were killed and two injured in an overnight Ukrainian drone attack on Luhansk, said Leonid Pasechnik, the Moscow-appointed head of the region, on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Pasechnik said Ukrainian forces launched a massive overnight raid across the region.<\/p>\n

“A heavy strike targeted residential buildings in the village of Solontsy, Troitsky District,” he wrote on his social media channel, adding that three people were killed and two wounded on site.<\/p>\n
