I\u00a0would like to\u00a0offer my\u00a0sincere<br \/>\ncongratulations to\u00a0all of\u00a0you and\u00a0all the\u00a0people of\u00a0Russia on\u00a0this occasion.<br \/>\nWhy do you think I\u00a0am sending my\u00a0greetings to\u00a0all Russian citizens? In\u00a0fact, no<br \/>\nmatter whether you belong to\u00a0an\u00a0ethnic majority or\u00a0minority, all the\u00a0peoples of\u00a0Russia form a\u00a0single family, and\u00a0this is what makes us strong. Ethnic groups<br \/>\nboth large and\u00a0small must all realise that this is our common home, our<br \/>\nhomeland. This is the\u00a0only way we can feel confident and\u00a0advance in\u00a0a\u00a0sustained<br \/>\nand\u00a0steady manner.<\/p>\n<p>Our country is home to\u00a047 indigenous peoples.<br \/>\nEach of\u00a0them is an\u00a0integral part of\u00a0Russia and\u00a0its unique diversity and\u00a0serves<br \/>\nas\u00a0a\u00a0keeper of\u00a0unique traditions, cultures, and\u00a0ways of\u00a0life. Each people, and\u00a0each ethnic group that is part of\u00a0Russia\u2019s close-knit family of\u00a0peoples<br \/>\nrepresents our shared heritage. Preserving and\u00a0supporting them, as\u00a0well as\u00a0ensuring their wellbeing, is essential to\u00a0safeguarding and\u00a0strengthening the\u00a0unity of\u00a0the\u00a0nation as\u00a0a\u00a0whole.<\/p>\n<p>Let me emphasise that Russia has<br \/>\nhistorically emerged as\u00a0a\u00a0union of\u00a0various peoples. We have been mentioning<br \/>\nthis often, but I\u00a0think that repeating this message is absolutely appropriate<br \/>\non\u00a0this day, so I\u00a0wanted to\u00a0emphasise this point.<\/p>\n<p>I\u00a0am looking at\u00a0a\u00a0married couple<br \/>\nright now, since it embodies the\u00a0very notion of\u00a0a\u00a0union, both literally and\u00a0in\u00a0a\u00a0more figurative sense. The\u00a0young wife comes from the\u00a0Krasnodar Territory,<br \/>\nwhile you are from the\u00a0Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area.
