Molnet \u00e4r den st\u00f6rsta strukturen i sitt slag i galaxen, 1,4 ljus\u00e5r brett. Det inneh\u00e5ller lika mycket massa som solen och expanderar fortfarande. <\/p>\n<p>Molnet uppt\u00e4cktes med hj\u00e4lp av teleskopet Alma i Chile. Det omger stj\u00e4rnan DFK 52, en s\u00e5\u202fkallad r\u00f6d superj\u00e4tte, och tros ha bildats f\u00f6r 4\u202f000 \u00e5r sedan. <\/p>\n<p>Enligt astronomen Mark Siebert uppkom molnet troligen n\u00e4r materia slungades ut fr\u00e5n stj\u00e4rnan. Det kan i sin tur bero p\u00e5 att stj\u00e4rnan har en dold f\u00f6ljeslagarstj\u00e4rna, tror Siebert. <\/p>\n<p>Omni \u00e4r politiskt obundna och oberoende.
