\t\t\tGOG, spelbutiken som tidigare hette ”Good Old Games”, har k\u00f6pts upp av Michal Kicinski, en av de tv\u00e5 personer som startade CD Projekt, det polska spelf\u00f6retaget som bland annat ligger bakom spelserier som The Witcher och Cyberpunk.Kicinski var i sin roll p\u00e5 CD Projekt \u00e4ven en av grundarna bakom Good Old Games n\u00e4r denna drog ig\u00e5ng 2008. GOG har som uttalat syfte att bevara \u00e4ldre spel till efterv\u00e4rlden och bara spel utan DRM-skydd distribueras via butiken. Att CD Projekt nu s\u00e4ljer GOG till en av sina grundare f\u00f6rklaras med att f\u00f6retaget vill fokusera mer p\u00e5 att utveckla spel \u00e4n att driva en spelbutik. I en FAQ skriver man \u00e4ven om varf\u00f6r Kicinski nu valt att k\u00f6pa hela GOG fr\u00e5n CD Projekt. ”Because he wants to preserve and grow the original philosophy behind GOG. In a PC market that keeps moving toward mandatory clients and closed ecosystems, he believes GOG\u2019s approach is more relevant than ever: no lock-in, no forced platforms, sense of ownership.
