Hydrofoilen \u00e4r konstruerad f\u00f6r att lyfta ur vattnet vid h\u00f6ga hastigheter f\u00f6r \u00f6kad effektivitet och har en toppfart p\u00e5 30 knop (n\u00e4stan 56 km\/h) samt en typisk marschfart p\u00e5 25 knop (46 km\/h).&#13;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">De h\u00f6ga hastigheterna g\u00f6r det m\u00f6jligt att snabbare transportera sj\u00f6lotsar till och fr\u00e5n fartyg. Redan 2024 genomf\u00f6rde Artemis tester som bekr\u00e4ftade att EF-12 Pilot fungerar v\u00e4l i k\u00f6lvatten, \u00e4ven i foiling-l\u00e4ge. F\u00f6retaget konstaterade ocks\u00e5 att lotsb\u00e5ten snabbt kan n\u00e4rma sig och s\u00e4kert l\u00e4gga till l\u00e4ngs sidan av fartyg i deplacement-l\u00e4ge. Med andra ord kan EF-12 komma tillr\u00e4ckligt n\u00e4ra ett stort fartyg f\u00f6r att \u00f6verf\u00f6ra en lots mellan dem.&#13;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Enligt Artemis \u00e4r den f\u00f6rsta EF-12-enheten nu officiellt i vattnet och kommer att genomg\u00e5 en sista testfas innan den tas i drift.&#13;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Hydrofoiler har \u00e5terigen uppm\u00e4rksammats de senaste \u00e5ren tack vare elektrifieringen av tekniken. Artemis arbetar \u00e4ven med st\u00f6rre hydrofoiler. En annan anm\u00e4rkningsv\u00e4rd utveckling inom hydrofoilomr\u00e5det \u00e4r ett f\u00f6rs\u00f6k med \u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mynewsdesk.com\/candela-speedboat-ab\/pressreleases\/stockholms-electric-flying-ferry-successful-on-all-parameters-according-to-official-report-3432317\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">\u201d som genomf\u00f6rts av konkurrenten Candela<\/a> i Sverige, som visade att hydrofoiler orsakar mindre st\u00f6rningar l\u00e4ngs kusterna.&#13;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Ett grundl\u00e4ggande problem f\u00f6r hydrofoiler \u00e4r bristen p\u00e5 teknikneutralitet i regelverket. Ist\u00e4llet f\u00f6r att ta h\u00e4nsyn till den minskade milj\u00f6p\u00e5verkan som kan uppn\u00e5s vid h\u00f6ga hastigheter, inf\u00f6r de nuvarande reglerna fasta hastighetsbegr\u00e4nsningar. I Stockholm har ett s\u00e4rskilt undantag beviljats f\u00f6r att st\u00f6dja forskning och tester. Det \u00e4r dock osannolikt att detta skulle ske i l\u00e4nder som Tyskland.
