Patienten beh\u00f6ver inga immund\u00e4mpande mediciner.<\/li>\n<li class=\"aw__sc-1yb43iq-1 gVAzbt\">Forskaren Per-Ola Carlsson s\u00e4ger att metoden kan vara f\u00f6rsta steget mot botemedel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"aw__sc-1qwuw0s-0 aw__sc-ngllmo-0 epAWpq fzYpjk yle__article__paragraph\">F\u00f6r f\u00f6rsta g\u00e5ngen har en patient med typ 1-diabetes f\u00e5tt genmodifierade insulinproducerande celler transplanterade utan att kroppen har st\u00f6tt bort dem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"aw__sc-1qwuw0s-0 aw__sc-ngllmo-0 epAWpq fzYpjk yle__article__paragraph\">Efter 14 m\u00e5naders uppf\u00f6ljning visar resultaten att cellerna \u00f6verlever och forts\u00e4tter fungera i patientens kropp, s\u00e4ger <strong class=\"aw__sc-ngllmo-2 gdRrun yle__article__strong\">Per-Ola Carlsson<\/strong>, ansvarig f\u00f6r studien.<\/p>\n<p class=\"aw__sc-1qwuw0s-0 aw__sc-ngllmo-0 epAWpq fzYpjk yle__article__paragraph\">Cellerna har genmodifierats f\u00f6r att f\u00f6rhindra att patientens immunf\u00f6rsvar angriper dem och f\u00f6r att patienten inte ska beh\u00f6va anv\u00e4nda immund\u00e4mpande l\u00e4kemedel som \u00f6kar risken f\u00f6r infektioner och cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Hj\u00e4lper kroppen att producera eget insulin<\/p>\n<p class=\"aw__sc-1qwuw0s-0 aw__sc-ngllmo-0 epAWpq fzYpjk yle__article__paragraph\">En person som har typ 1-diabetes saknar de insulinproducerande cellerna i kroppen. Det forskarna nu har gjort \u00e4r att s\u00e4tta in nya, friska celler i patientens kropp s\u00e5 att kroppen klarar av att producera eget insulin igen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"aw__sc-1qwuw0s-0 aw__sc-ngllmo-0 epAWpq fzYpjk yle__article__paragraph\">Vid transplantationer av insulinproducerande celler beh\u00f6vs normalt immund\u00e4mpande l\u00e4kemedel f\u00f6r att kroppen inte ska st\u00f6ta bort cellerna.<\/p>\n<p class=\"aw__sc-1qwuw0s-0 aw__sc-ngllmo-0 epAWpq fzYpjk yle__article__paragraph\">Per-Ola Carlsson tror att deras metod att anv\u00e4nda sig av genmodifierade celler kan vara ett f\u00f6rsta steg till att hitta ett botemedel mot typ 1-diabetes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"aw__sc-1qwuw0s-0 aw__sc-ngllmo-0 epAWpq fzYpjk yle__article__paragraph\">Resultaten har publicerats i medicintidskriften The New England Journal of Medicine.<\/p>\n<p>Testat p\u00e5 40-\u00e5ring<\/p>\n<p class=\"aw__sc-1qwuw0s-0 aw__sc-ngllmo-0 epAWpq fzYpjk yle__article__paragraph\">Innan behandlingsmetoden kunde testas p\u00e5 en m\u00e4nniska har den testats noga i laboratorium och genom djurf\u00f6rs\u00f6k.<\/p>\n<p class=\"aw__sc-1qwuw0s-0 aw__sc-ngllmo-0 epAWpq fzYpjk yle__article__paragraph\">I en f\u00f6rsta studie p\u00e5 m\u00e4nniskor testar forskarna vanligen en l\u00e5g dos f\u00f6r att bed\u00f6ma s\u00e4kerheten.<\/p>\n<p class=\"aw__sc-1qwuw0s-0 aw__sc-ngllmo-0 epAWpq fzYpjk yle__article__paragraph\">I Uppsala testades metoden p\u00e5 en 40-\u00e5rig man som haft typ 1-diabetes l\u00e4nge och som inte har egen insulinproduktion. Han fick endast en liten dos av de insulinproducerande cellerna.<\/p>\n<p class=\"aw__sc-1qwuw0s-0 aw__sc-ngllmo-0 epAWpq fzYpjk yle__article__paragraph\">Den l\u00e5ga dosen celler var inte tillr\u00e4cklig f\u00f6r att f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttra mannens blodsockerkontroll eller ers\u00e4tta hans insulinbehandling, s\u00e4ger Carlsson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"aw__sc-1qwuw0s-0 aw__sc-ngllmo-0 epAWpq fzYpjk yle__article__paragraph\">Men testet visade att de transplanterade cellerna \u00f6verlevde, producerade en liten m\u00e4ngd insulin och inte tycktes st\u00f6tas bort under uppf\u00f6ljningen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"aw__sc-1qwuw0s-0 aw__sc-ngllmo-0 epAWpq fzYpjk yle__article__paragraph\">Per-Ola Carlsson ser cellers\u00e4ttning som en m\u00f6jlig v\u00e4g till framtida behandlingar som kan minska eller p\u00e5 sikt ers\u00e4tta behovet av insulin.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Tv\u00e5 h\u00e4nder som h\u00e5ller i en insulinpump.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1707986198.jpeg\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aw__sc-dklauk-0 LPzKX\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u00d6ppna bildvisare<\/p>\n<p>Den som har typ 1-diabetes beh\u00f6ver tillf\u00f6ra insulin, till exempel genom en automatisk pump. Men celler fr\u00e5n organdonatorer kommer inte att r\u00e4cka till f\u00f6r att bota typ 1-diabetes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"aw__sc-1qwuw0s-0 aw__sc-ngllmo-0 epAWpq fzYpjk yle__article__paragraph\">F\u00f6r att behandlingen ska kunna anv\u00e4ndas av m\u00e5nga beh\u00f6ver forskarna kunna odla fram stora m\u00e4ngder insulinproducerande celler fr\u00e5n stamceller i laboratorier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"aw__sc-1qwuw0s-0 aw__sc-ngllmo-0 epAWpq fzYpjk yle__article__paragraph\">I studien producerade de transplanterade cellerna lite insulin hos patienten.
