You are welcome to a public seminar on the war in Sudan, where several rival states in the region are fuelling the conflict with weapons and money.

What began as a power struggle between the government and the RSF militia has turned into a protracted war that has forced 12 million people to flee, causing immense suffering. Recently, RSF captured the city of al-Fashir, and credible reports of widespread mass executions have emerged from there. The conflict has also evolved into an arena for geopolitical rivalry, with several Arab states actively supporting different sides in the war.

Speakers:
Dr. Redie Bereketeab, Associate Professor of Sociology and Senior Researcher, Nordic Africa Institute (NAI)
Dr. Johan Brosché, Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor, Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University
Oscar Fröberg, Researcher, Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI)

Moderator
Dr. Fanny Christou, Acting Head of the Middle East and North Africa Programme

Sign up for the seminar here!

The seminar will be held in English and followed with opportunities for audience questions.
This seminar is a part of the Bakom rubriken-project.

Sudan är en av världens största humanitära katastrofer, men får trots det inte mycket av världens uppmärksamhet.
