Na prv\u00fd poh\u013ead ide o\u00a0detail, ale v\u00a0praxi o\u00a0z\u00e1sadn\u00fa zmenu v\u00a0tom, ako sa v\u00a0motore iniciuje a riadi spa\u013eovanie. Do predkom\u00f4rky sa cez mal\u00e9 otvory dost\u00e1va \u010das\u0165 zmesi vzduchu a paliva, ktor\u00e1 sa tu zap\u00e1li a vytvor\u00ed viacero intenz\u00edvnych plame\u0148ov. Tie z\u00a0predkomory \u201evystrelia\u201c do hlavnej spa\u013eovacej komory r\u00fdchlos\u0165ou bl\u00ed\u017eiacou sa r\u00fdchlosti zvuku. V\u00fdsledkom je zap\u00e1lenie zmesi na viacer\u00fdch miestach, \u010do zr\u00fdch\u013euje proces horenia a z\u00e1rove\u0148 zni\u017euje riziko ne\u017eiaducich javov, ako je detona\u010dn\u00e9 spa\u013eovanie zn\u00e1me ako \u201eklepanie\u201c.
