The driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian in Valencia earlier this month turned himself in to authorities Thursday morning.
Brian Foraker, 67, of Castaic, turned himself in to authorities at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on Thursday morning, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the station.
The April 10 collision was first reported around 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Magic Mountain Parkway and Tourney Road in Valencia, claiming the life of 39-year-old Dion Mumphery, who was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
“Units arrived on scene to find a patient on the floor, pulseless and apneic,” Justin Yang, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, said at the time of the incident. “The vehicle involved fled the scene. The patient was attempting to cross the street, but not in a designated crosswalk.”
Mumphery was pronounced dead at the scene.
Foraker has been arrested for felony hit–and-run, according to Miller.
