ACCIONA and its partner, Bertolín, today welcomed the president of the regional government of Valencia, Juan Francisco Pérez Llorca, to the construction site of the new Júcar–Vinalopó pipeline (Section II of the post-transfer network), a key infrastructure project for the supply of irrigation water in Alicante province and the Vinalopó region.
During the visit, the president met with the Central Users Board of Vinalopó, Alacantí and the Marina Baja Water Consortium before touring the works in the municipality of Novelda, where he reviewed progress on the project.
The project, promoted by the regional government of Valencia through its Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries, includes the construction of an approximately 12.5-kilometer pipeline to supply irrigation users on the left bank of the Júcar–Vinalopó system. It also includes a main steel pipeline with diameters ranging from 1,400 mm to 800 mm, along with several branch lines connecting to local reservoirs, including Monteagudo, Agost, San Pascual and El Cid, which will improve the distribution of irrigation water in the area. The system will also include electrical installations and photovoltaic solutions, as well as control and remote-operation systems that will enable more efficient water management.
The new pipeline is part of a broader effort to strengthen the reliability of water supply in the Vinalopó region, helping improve water distribution efficiency and support agricultural activity in the area.
