Jackson police are investigating after an 18-year-old died from injuries suffered in a shooting at a home on Valencia Street.According to the Jackson Police Department, Precinct 1 officers responded Wednesday, April 8, 2026, to a residence in the 900 block of Valencia Street in reference to a shooting. The department’s Robbery/Homicide Unit and Mobile Crime Unit also responded to the scene.Investigators say four people were inside the home when the shooting happened. Two people were injured — a woman and 18-year-old Joel Terrell.Police said the woman was taken to a local hospital and treated for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. Terrell was also taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.Authorities said Terrell later died from his injuries.
