SEVILLE, Ohio (WOIO) – An animal trap was found with skeletal remains inside near an apartment complex in Seville.
With the possibility that the animal experienced prolonged suffering, the Medina County SPCA said wants to know who set it.
The trap was found near the Village Spare Apartments in Seville on Monday, the SPCA stated.

The skeletal remains found inside are believed to be an opossum, according to the SPCA.
The SPCA acknowledged that without further context, there are multiple possible explanations for what happened.
However, the SPCA said it appeared the trap may have been placed within the last few days, as it is a frequently traveled area.
“While this may involve wildlife, there is still the possibility that the animal experienced prolonged suffering, which is something we take very seriously,” the SPCA stated. “This is an unusual situation, and we are hoping someone may have seen or heard something that could help provide clarity.”
Call the SPCA’s humane officer at 330-802-7880 if you have any information on this incident.
“Thank you for helping us look out for the welfare of all animals in our community,” the SPCA shared.
