Thousands of people travel with Ryanair when they go abroad, but there’s some crucial information you need to know if you’re visiting Spain. Plane passengers have been told Ryanair are flogging plane seats that are “cheaper than buying dinner”, which is great news if you’re looking for a budget holiday.

The travel news was recently drawn attention to by Spain Explore on Instagram, as they were keen to alert people to the deals. The page claimed the airline has announced routes to Barcelona that are “cheaper than dinner” and, after making a quick check, you’ll see that some flights from the UK are pretty reasonable.

It’s not the only important information passengers have been told about the airline recently either. Days ago, they were warned making a simple mistake could lead to boosting the price of your flights.

Alongside the post, information read: “Greece to Barcelona for just $48 (£35.26) on Ryanair. May 26, 2026 departure. This price won’t last long so grab yours NOW before it’s gone.”

However, if you’re travelling from the UK and Ireland, there are a few things you need to know which could help you snap up the best deals. If you weren’t aware, Ryanair tends to offer very cheap flights to Barcelona, with fares often starting from around £15 to £25 for one-way tickets from a number of UK cities like London Stansted and Manchester.

They primarily fly into Barcelona El Prat Airport (BCN), frequently landing at Terminal 2B, offering competitive prices that often include just a small personal bag. Travelling from London Stansted to Barcelona is thought to be a common low-cost route, with prices sometimes as low as £19 for one-way flights.

However, there are some things you need to know. Usually, you need to book around 45 to 60 days in advance to try and get your hands on the cheapest tickets.

As well as this, the lowest fares usually only include one small personal item. Extra charges can apply for cabin bags or checked luggage.

How to find the best deals

While there are still a few bargain deals this month, June offers flights from as cheap as £16.99 for one-way journeys from airports such as Birmingham, Bristol and Liverpool on select days.

As for flights from Dublin, the website currently shows prices can be as low €31 (£26.75) on select days for a one-way journey, but they can differ coming back. The price depends on when you want to travel.

If you’re keen to jet off soon, some return flights are also available from as little as €58 (£50.06) in May. You need to act fast to bag these seats though, as deals are limited.

Meanwhile, flights from Glasgow Prestwick tend to be cheaper mid-week in June for those hoping to travel to Barcelona. Some can be snapped up for as little as €51 (£44.02) for a return flight in May and June.

Naturally, the prices of flights vary throughout the month, so you need to be quick if you want to snap them up at a bargain rate. It should also be noted that flight prices fluctuate constantly, and prices may require you to travel back on certain dates.

In fact, they can often change multiple times a day based on real-time demand, seat availability and competitor pricing. Airlines are reported to use dynamic algorithms to adjust fares, rising as flights fill up or falling to fill seats, typically mid-week.

Factors like travel dates, route popularity and holidays can also drive these changes. It’s important to bear this in mind when looking around.
