The Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” revealed that agent Pini Zahavi arrived in Barcelona to finalize the contract renewal of coach Hans Flick with FC Barcelona.
Zahavi is also the agent of player Robert Lewandowski, and he came to Barcelona to finalize the renewal of Flick’s contract, after the German coach previously expressed his desire to continue with the club, with the ambition of winning the Champions League.
According to the same source, Barcelona’s management and the coach have agreed to extend the contract until the end of the 2027/2028 season, with the possibility of extending it until June 30, 2029, while the current contract runs until 2027, with the final details still being finalized.
Alongside Flick’s file, Zahavi is seeking to understand Barcelona’s stance on Lewandowski’s future, whose contract expires on June 30th next year.
The report indicated that the player is fully in harmony with the club and life in Catalonia, as his wife recently posted a picture of him with a tattoo of the Barcelona logo. Meanwhile, the club’s president, Joan Laporta, had previously expressed his desire to extend his contract for an additional season.
The source clarified that Lewandowski’s continuation with Barcelona might be linked to a technical decision by Flick, with the possibility of significantly reducing his salary compared to his current contract.
The Polish forward has scored 18 goals this season, despite playing more often as a substitute compared to his previous seasons since joining Barcelona in 2022. He has returned to the starting lineup in some matches, including the game against Osasuna where he scored a goal.
The report also mentioned receiving offers from Juventus and Milan clubs, in addition to offers from the Saudi league and Chicago Fire in the American league.
