Valencia Basket is expected to field under-22 players against Baskonia on Sunday if the ACB does not change the schedule, as the club prioritizes Game 5 against Panathinaikos.

Valencia Basket clinched back-to-back victories in Athens to avoid elimination from the EuroLeague playoffs. Valencia defeated Panathinaikos 89-86 in Game 4 on Friday night, tying the series at 2-2 and forcing a decisive Game 5 back home.

Before the biggest game of their EuroLeague season, however, Valencia will first face Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz in an ACB League matchup on Sunday.

According to Deportes COPE Valencia, the team plans to field a youth squad and under-22 players for the domestic game if the ACB does not make any changes to the schedule. Valencia prioritizes Wednesday’s EuroLeague game.

Last weekend, between Game 2 and Game 3, Valencia lost to Manresa. For comparison, PAO has not played a domestic game since April 25.

Valencia currently sits second in the ACB standings with a 21-8 record and five regular-season games remaining.

Game 5 against Panathinaikos is scheduled for May 13 at Roig Arena, with a spot in the EuroLeague Final Four on the line.
