A several-hour standoff in Valencia early Saturday morning ended with one teen allegedly armed with a knife in custody, while another remains outstanding.
Deputies initially responded around 12:05 a.m. Saturday to the 25700 block of Covala Court regarding reports of two teen males arguing, according to Sgt. Elsee with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“During the incident, one of the individuals allegedly threatened to harm the reporting party, believed to be a neighbor,” he said.
One suspect was reportedly armed with a knife, while another claimed to have a gun, although no firearm was seen, according to Sgt. Elsee.
One 17-year-old male was arrested in connection with the incident, while a second suspect remained outstanding as of Saturday morning, according to Sgt. Elsee.
Initial reports said the incident escalated into a several-hour barricade standoff involving the suspects inside a residence.
Initial reports also said one suspect burst through a side gate and attempted to flee the area on a bicycle before falling off the bike and being tased by deputies before being taken into custody.
The investigation remains ongoing.
