Five teams are moving on to the final stage of the international competition for Liceu Mar, a new cultural venue planned at Barcelona’s waterfront. 

Promoted by the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Port of Barcelona, the project envisions a second home for the historic opera institution while reconnecting the city with the waterfront at Moll d’Espanya.

Selected from 55 international entries, the finalists will now develop architectural and urban proposals for the site. 

Beyond a new performance space, the initiative aims to reshape the edge of Port Vell, turning the port into a new cultural meeting point between the city and the sea.
