MADRID — Samson Joseph was born at 8:50pm on Monday, May 11, 2026, in Syracuse. He weighed 3 pounds 10 ounces and measured 17 inches long, with a full head of hair, and a heartbeat.
Samson’s father, Eric, received him and placed him on the chest of his mother, Jennifer, where he spent the entirety of his short, impactful life.
By 9:06pm, Samson went to be with the Lord.
Samson is survived by his six siblings; Eleora, Silas, Abraham, Hannah, Caleb, and Jubilee, who regularly told him of their love. Samson is also survived by his loving grandparents; David & Judy Bogert, Thomas Joseph & Laurie Trelease, as well as his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Samson’s father, Eric, prayed for him daily and spoke a blessing over him the morning of his birth.
Everyday Samson’s mother, Jennifer, laid down her life with joy. May she be honored for her great love and sacrifice for her son.
Though Samson’s life was a vapor, he had divine purpose that will continue to be realized into eternity. As the Trelease family grieves, they hold fast to the hope of the resurrection and the day they will be with Samson again.
In 1 Corinthians 15 it is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory.”…But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
A memorial service is planned for Monday, May 18, 2026, at 1:00pm at Christian Fellowship Center of Madrid, NY, followed by a graveside service at 3:00pm at Bayside Cemetery in Potsdam, NY.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, where friends may offer condolences to the family online at www.donaldsonseymour.com.
