Draper will aim to transfer his serving efficiency over to the clay court season as he is facing one of the most consistent and efficient returners on tour.

 

 

Playing Styles and Prediction

It was a good start to the clay court season for Martin Etcheverry as he pushed Carlos Alcaraz all the way, taking a set off the Spaniard. The Argentinian is a former semi-finalist in Barcelona and is capable of beating some top players on the red dirt and will be looking to do the same as he aims to continue his momentum. The question is does he have enough firepower to put a consistent run of results together and produce a deep run at a tournament?

Draper will look to serve aggressively and will use the backhand to open up space on the court. Meanwhile, Martin Etcheverry will look to be consistent and proactive on serve as he will use depth to force errors from the Brit. The key to victory for Draper will be his control when being aggressive as he cannot overcommit too early in the rally. The British number one is capable of playing on the clay as seen last year in Madrid but this test might come too early in his clay court season.
