Valencia defeated Unicaja on the road in Round 26 of the Liga Endesa, 96–89, strengthening their hold on second place in the standings.
Valencia now hold a 20–6 record in the Spanish league, while Unicaja drop to 15–11 after this defeat.
Pedro Martínez’s team started the game at a strong pace and quickly built an early lead, which they maintained until the end of the first quarter (27–23).
Jean Montero was in excellent form in the second quarter as well, quickly becoming the first player in the visiting team to reach double digits. However, Unicaja did not give up easily. The Malaga side went on a run midway through the quarter, overturned the deficit, and took a narrow lead into halftime (49–48).

The first part of the third quarter was marked by Valencia’s strong offensive play, as they turned a deficit into a nine-point advantage. At one point, led by Montero and Brancou Badio, they stretched the lead to double digits, but Kendrick Perry helped cut the gap (76–68).
The final quarter featured runs from both sides. Unicaja would close the gap, only for Valencia to respond and even extend the lead to +11 at one point. Chris Duarte played strongly in the closing stages for the home side, but Montero remained unstoppable.
Montero led Valencia with 29 points, while Badio added 16. Nate Reuvers contributed 10 points. For Unicaja, Duarte stood out with 22 points.
Valencia will travel next week to face Dubai Basketball Club in the final round of the EuroLeague regular season, with the game scheduled to be played in Zenica on Friday at 20:00.
