Like many of her fellow princesses, Sofia is balancing her burgeoning royal duties with her education. On 17 October 2025, shortly after enrolling at Forward College to read Political Science and International Relations, the Princess had an unannounced meeting with the President of Spain, who had also hosted the Princess of Asturias on her first official solo visit last year. Clearly, her sister was inspired by Sofia’s choice of degree: Leonor announced in April that she would also be studying Political Science at the Charles III University in Madrid.
Infanta Sofia has been well-prepared for her next chapter. In the Summer of 2025, she graduated from UWC Atlantic – the so-called ‘Hippy Hogwarts’, which is also the alma mater of her older sister, the Princess of Asturias, as well as King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Brabant.

King Felipe and Queen Letizia joined Sofia in Wales for her graduation ceremony that May, looking hugely proud of their daughter as her tutor described her as a ‘naturally empathetic and affectionate listener’. She continued, describing the young royal’s journey as ‘marked by perseverance and remarkable personal growth’ and called her ‘a true friend in difficult times’ who would be ‘greatly missed’.
