The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that state Route 345 will be reduced to a single lane with alternating flows of traffic controlled by flaggers, from Sucker Brook to the intersection of state Route 37 and state Route 345 in the town of Waddington, St. Lawrence County, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, June 15, to facilitate a paving operation.
Additional lane closures are planned along State Route 345, which will be reduced to a single lane with alternating flows of traffic controlled by flaggers, from the Grasse River Bridge to North Street in the town of Madrid, St. Lawrence County, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, to facilitate resurfacing.
The DOT is also advising motorists that State Route 72 will be reduced to a single lane, with alternating flows of traffic controlled by flaggers, from Parishville Center to Woodruff Road in the town of Parishville, St. Lawrence County, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Tuesday, June 16, through Friday, June 19, to facilitate a paving operation.
Motorists should expect travel delays and build extra travel time into their schedules. Construction activities are weather dependent and subject to change based on conditions.
A message from the state Department of Transportation says motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones.
It notes that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone, and convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in a driver license suspension.
