CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) – A meth dealer in southeast Missouri will spend the next decade in prison.
U.S. District Judge John A. Ross sentenced 55-year-old Craig M. Perkins of Howardville on Tuesday, June 16, after pleading guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine back in March.
Perkins admitted that during a court-approved search of his home in New Madrid County on May 21, 2025, investigators found around 4.2 lbs. of meth.
The New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office said this seizure may be one of the largest in the county’s history, with that amount of meth being worth about $40,000.
They also located half an ounce of meth and 36 rounds of ammunition in a vehicle in the driveway.
According to the Department of Justice, Perkins’ phone also contained text messages indicative of drug trafficking and photos of himself displaying large stacks of cash, as well as guns.
The DOJ said he has been a drug dealer in New Madrid County since at least 2002, and supplied dealers who sold meth to customers.
The Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force and the Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the case.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Shelton prosecuted the case.
