Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal are coming to Dallas Stadium on Monday to take on European champions Spain. Ronaldo scored a penalty kick, was subbed off, and then his team was able to find a winner. It was Ronaldo’s first World Cup knockout-round goal. The game seemed destined for extra time with a 103rd-minute equalizer, but the goal was overturned due to offside.
Spain dominated Austria 3-0 in Atlanta. They’re led by teenage superstar Lamine Yamal.

It’s the first of the final 2 games for Dallas Stadium, which also hosts the July 14 Semifinal.
The late game is the USMNT versus Belgium in Seattle. The USMNT is coming off a nail-biting 10-man win over Bosnia after striker Falorin Balogun was sent off with a second-half red card. Belgium was in an even more difficult spot, down 2-0 in the 85th minute against Senegal. They won 3-2 in extra time.

The teams are somewhat familiar with each other. Belgium dominated the U.S. in a March friendly in Atlanta 5-2. Little Elm’s Weston McKennie opened the scoring, but Belgium scored 4 in the second half. They also played in the 2014 World Cup. Belgium won 2-1 despite a record-breaking performance by Tim Howard; it’s a heartbreaking loss many USMNT fans are looking to purge from their memory with a win on Monday.
The winners of Monday’s games will play Friday at 2 p.m. in Los Angeles. The winner of that game would be coming to Dallas Stadium for a Tuesday semifinal, likely against France or Morocco.
