Spain is once again among the highest‑rated destinations for international tourism, with an average satisfaction of 9.3 out of 10 and 97.5% of visitors satisfied or very satisfied, according to the 2025 International Tourist Satisfaction Survey (ESTI), carried out by Turespaña with more than 20,000 interviews with non‑resident visitors. The United Kingdom is the third most satisfied source market (77.76%).
The results confirm the strong moment for the tourist experience in the country and place Mijas, with 9.46 points, and Benalmádena, with 9.41, both in Málaga, at the top of the ranking. They are followed by Toledo, with 9.35; Alicante, with 9.32; Fuengirola and Tarragona, with 9.31; Palma, Murcia and Estepona, with 9.29; and La Oliva, with 9.28. In addition, “very satisfied” tourists already reach 69.5%, in an upward trend since 2022.

By area, the highest levels of maximum satisfaction are recorded in transport, with 65.84%; infrastructure, with 63.26%; and leisure, with 63.19%. In accommodation, the quality of the rooms and the value for money are key; in food and beverage, the atmosphere and the experience of the space; in surroundings, the tranquillity and cleanliness; and in leisure, the cultural offer stands out as the best‑rated element.
Regarding autonomous communities, Extremadura leads, with 80%; followed by Galicia, with 79.6%; and Aragón, with 73.9%. The survey highlights the direct relationship between satisfaction and loyalty: those who rate their experience more highly are more likely to go back and recommend Spain. Turespaña identifies consolidating environmental sustainability, strengthening social sustainability and maintaining investment in the most influential factors as priorities.
