A construction worker is dead after a medical emergency in Valencia.

At approximately 2:24 p.m. Tuesday, emergency responders received reports of an unresponsive patient near Marshland Place and Blue Jay Way in Valencia, a neighborhood currently under construction, according to Ryan Rau, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“The patient was working at a nearby construction site, felt ill and sat down. Coworkers found him unresponsive and called 911. Arriving units found him pulseless and apneic, and CPR was performed,” Rau said.

The man could not be revived, according to Rau.

The identity of the deceased is unavailable to the public pending notification of next of kin.
