Liverpool Women have signed Spanish central midfielder Natalia Ramos from Liga F side, CD Tenerife Feminino, subject to visa approval and international clearance.

The 27-year-old makes the move to Merseyside from sunny Tenerife having come off what seemed to have been a solid season for the midfielder, having scored ten goals along with five assists in her thirty appearances for the club last season.

Spain youth pedigree

Despite no senior international appearances for her home country of Spain, she had previously played for Spain at youth level, getting capped at both under-17 and under-19 level.

She was also notably a part of the Spanish squad that won the under-19s Women’s European Championship in Northern Ireland back in 2017.

Taking the No.6 shirt

Natalia Ramos will wear the No.6 shirt for Liverpool Women, which notably was most recently worn for the latter half of last season by Irish international Denise O’Sullivan, who left the club on an obligation-to-buy loan to NWSL side Gotham FC after just half a season at the club.

Ramos on receiving the No.6 shirt said: “I feel very happy and privileged to take this shirt and sign at the club.”

Ramos on joining the club said: “I’m really, really happy. I’m very excited to achieve this new step in my life and I’m very grateful for this new opportunity in my life.”

She further adds: “For me it was a very easy decision and I’m very, very happy, with a lot of feelings and emotions because I know who the club is, the respect [it has].”

Experience for a young squad

With over 200 appearances across two stints at CD Tenerife Feminino, along with 21 appearances for Levante, she brings much-needed experience and depth to a Liverpool squad full of youth and looking to rebuild from a tough season last year, having finished just above the relegation playoff position.
