Sure, sure, the schools in the Santa Clarita Valley are beginning their fall sessions this week. But we know that, more importantly, the SCV is preparing to go into football season.

That’s right, our heroes have already been out there for some time, sweltering under the August sun, preparing for the fall days of glory to soon-come. Tackle football scrimmages begin this week, and girls flag football games have been underway since Aug. 8.

 

Valencia

The Valencia Vikings have a home scrimmage against Highland High School on Thursday, Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. The first official non-league game will be away at Simi Valley on Friday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m.

Hart

The Hart Hawks have not published any notice of scrimmages, but you can be sure there is one later this week. Hart will have its first non-league game at home against Birmingham on Friday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m.

Saugus

The Saugus Centurions have a scrimmage at Rio Mesa High School on Thursday, Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. Saugus will have its first non-league game away against Agoura High on Friday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m.

Golden Valley

The Golden Valley Grizzlies will scrimmage Knight High School at Golden Valley on Friday, Aug. 14 at 5 p.m. Golden Valley will have its first non-league game away at Pasadena High on Friday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m.
